I'm actually a fan of practical jokes as long as nobody gets hurt in the process. And I agree with Chris - things like these are acceptable in Japan but in some other countries I've been to where people don't seem to know what humor and fun means, pulling such schemes will either put you in jail or give you a black eye or broken tooth perhaps!
