BREAKING NEWS: The Return of the Zuiikin English Girls!

Zuiikin English is back! And better than ever thanks to the man who started the whole thing over a year ago. Okay he didn’t really start it (after all this is a TV show from Japan) but he did upload the clips to Youtube.

P-Low, The Skillful Abbot has returned with no less than nine new Zuiikin English videos all of which you can view on his YouTube page. Hopefully, he’ll enable embedding at some point in the future so I can post a few of them up here.

On a side note, as a video re-blogger, I find the habit of not making videos embeddable quite frustrating. If you’re going to make videos available on YouTube, then they should be shareable by the greater audience. And shareable, to me, means the ability to make it available to my readers on my site. I guess I can understand if you’re the copyright holder but even then isn’t the idea of uploading something to YT to try to get a bunch of people to see it?

What do you guys think?

As someone fairly new to video re-blogging, I’ve already run into this and share your frustration. The only reason I can think of for someone doing that is forcing re-posters to use a link instead. That way viewers have to visit the YT page and read the description, comments, etc., which aren’t available for those watching an embedded version. Also, it may make it easier to track hits, referring sites, etc.

But I agree — kinda crappy.

EMBED disabled pisses me off … It forces me to download the FLV and re-upload wasting space off somewhere and making people think I uploaded video for Youtube “viewers” and “comments” when I just wanted to EMBED the damn video.

Okay, I understand where you guys are coming from… But I got so pissed off last year with people re-uploading videos… Embedding was allowed then. I just want people to check out the Zuiikin Channel in full…. But do to Gavin’s request I will allow the embedding feature again (He was always fair with me)

I totally agree, making YouTube videos not embeddable is ridiculous and defeats the concept of YouTube in the first place. By video re-blogging (like that phrase you made up) the original poster gets even more plays and traffic exposure. I rarely even consider any videos that are not embed-able.

I love these girls! Here in good old USA I can proudly say that I learned some of my English from them!

No one ever says “Let’s go dutch,” so these videos have actually expanded my vocabulary more than my ninth grade English teacher did.
