What May Be The Funniest 5 Rangers Sketch Of All Time
The 5 Rangers are (or more properly were) a series of sketches by DownTown & friends that always start the same way, Hamada in the Skull suit abusing/groping a woman/women, and the 5 Rangers come to save the day.
The joke really is that the 5 Rangers, always a parody of the Power Rangers (Super Sentai) come in with different themes or weird things that connect them. In general, it’s a pretty funny premise that works a lot like an ongoing SNL sketch (Toonces comes to mind) where you buy the basic concept and then the twist is what makes it funny (or funnier than last time).
Here, however, you get the feeling that they just decided to go as random as possible and throw in all of the ideas they had into the basic premise and see what turned up. Thankfully for us, it’s pretty damn awesome. Keep your eye out for No-Pan Shabu Shabu, which is essentially a man dressed up as a waitress for a restaurant where they don’t wear pants preparing to cook a pair of panties shabu-shabu style.
