Man In Rabbit Suit Plays Giant Pinball Game With Bowling Balls
Every once in a while, it’s just nice to see the completely absurd still has a place on Japanese TV.
The point here has something to do with making a fruit smoothie and avoiding the asparagus which will be added if the ball slips by.
I imagine this is why the guy is dressed like a bunny. However, you never know.

The booby prize for this game is “Goya” or Okinawaian bitter gourd that has become more popular on the Japanese mainland as a traditional summer food. Obviously, the bitter taste of the gourd won’t be very good with the other fruits, like orange, apple, and kiwi that are the goal. However, I can’t explain why the fellow is in a bunny suit, either.

Pretty positive you’ve got a pink poodle playing pinball there, actually.
Forever lovin’ the site, btw.

This is from SMAPxSMAP.
The pink poodle is supposed to be “erotically sexy poo-chan” or something from one of the gag skits. That’s why there’s Inagaki’s “Dad” and Shingo’s “son” characters as well.

[...] It’s starting to feel a bit weird, you know, being British even though my life is Japanese. I was reading TV in Japan’s post titled Man In Rabbit Suit Plays Giant Pinball Game with Bowling Balls, and even though Gavin described the show as completely absurd, I actually watched it when it aired on TV and thought it was… normal. So, perhaps Japan has become so familiar to me that what I now perceive as normal, my fellow foreigners think is absurd. Cripes! [...]

Sometimes I’m a little glad that I don’t speak Japanese when I watch these clips, as I think if I really understood everything that was said it would be a lot less absurd. When you have no idea what’s going on your mind has a tendency to try to fill in the gaps.
Obviously it’s still a lot crazier than what happens on American TV, though. And a lot more fun.

I love the fact that the music in this is the theme to “Zorba the Greek”.

That was absolutely crazy! Well, leave it to japanese TV. Somebody is going to have to explain the meaning behind it one day.
