Death Note: The Movie Trailer With Subs
This looks pretty good if slightly implausible. Of course, after Narfs anything is plausible.

The manga this movie is based on is incredibly good. It’s very compelling in a Hitchcockian way. The tension and game of cat-and-mouse continually ramp up, and just when you think they go any further, they turn a corner and completely suprise you.
That creepy CGI character at the end? That’s the Death God mentioned in the beginning. Basically a genius straight A student finds the notebook and decides to become judge, jury and executioner for a corrupt world. He becomes the rage of the Internet and public opinion, being dubbed ‘kira’ (for KILLER, japanified). As he begins mass murdering convicted criminals and people who’ve escaped justice alike, the police seek to track him down..until he crosses the line and starts killing any cops who get to close. Enter ‘L’, the boy genius from Interpol sent to hunt him down on a collision course as they match wits, head to head.
Oh, and to rack it up another notch? The head of the police task force is Kira’s father. Hilarity ensues. Some of the most intelligently written manga I’ve read…think Holmes and Moriarity going head to head, and you’ve got a good idea. I hope the movies (of which this is the first) are up to the quality of the manga.
