More Awesome D-1: Crazy Taxi Driver Suprises Actor
Finally, we’ve got some more D-1!
Yes, from the makers of the Naked-Rocket-Lounge Chair-Ski gag and the Outhouse That Goes Up gag, now comes another brilliant way to scare the living crap out of people.
This time the set-up is fairly simple. Take one stunt expert. Dress him as a taxi driver. Get an unsuspecting actor to take a ride of unimaginable horribleness. Get the whole thing on film.
Brought to you by Charlie aka DBSboy who, like so many awesome TV in Japan readers/watchers, sacrafices to the YouTube beast so that we all might feast.

That just made me unimaginably happy.
Poor Tanaka! He always seems to get the short end of the stick when it comes to gags. I wonder if the gaki boys set him up for it specifically.

Why is their a japanese hitler dressed in a salior suit on the “pannel” thing

That’s Takeshi Kitano, the film director, in the sailor suit and Hitler moustache at the end of the clip. He used to do stuff like this all the time, setting up pranks and hosting programs while wearing crazy costumes. A lot of the clips on the Japanarama
videos are from Kitano programs.

Looking on YouTube, I found a clip of Kitano playing ping-pong with one of the girls from Tatu, so I guess he’s still at it.

where are there other D-1 clips? The three shows I’ve seen (portapot, ski resort) were some of the best I’ve seen of any show

I so wish there were other D-1 clips out there. I think we need to find who has these in their closets and force them to upload them
Charlie did hint to me that he had other tapes. Hopefully, they include more D-1.

Yeah I have the D-1 video CDs Vol 1-5, but the thing is most of the pranks make sense only if you either know Japanese or the Chinese subtitles.

Yeah that’s the guy from MXC, his name is Takeshi Kitano like it says up top and MXC is called Takeshi’s Castle in Japan.

That was about the funniest thing I have seen in a while. I like at the end when the dude says “Stop the car” and he crashes it, then asks for his fare. “I’m not f’ing paying you!” is the response. Know that this passenger is a famous comedian, unlike the toilet clips. Famous people in Japan must ALWAYS be prepared for the unexpected.

what’s this show called?

OMG. That was frigging hilarious, and yet at the same time, if it were me I would’ve totally gone off my rocker. Insane!
Don’t they have laws against pranks like this? Omg. Frigging insane. I think this would fall under extreme mental and emotional distress for filing a lawsuit in the states.
