This proves that advertising imagery does not have to be literal to capture one’s attention. But I need clarification as to whether the Cupie Dolls represent meatballs, given their tomato sauce color. My first reaction was, “What the hell?” However, I would much rather see similar commercials on U.S. television. I would be not only entertained, but I would also remember the product. The Japanese culture is such an original wellspring of thought and creativity. It seems that other cultures are always transformed when they pass through its filter. I hope this will always be so.
